In my opinion, nude lipstick has always been the perfect finishing touch to any look. It’s also really versatile and matches any outfit and mood. This is why the iconic Velvet Teddy has the cult status that it does.
However, there are an abundance of nude shades available and even more formulas and finishes, so finding your fave can be a struggle. Here’s a list of nude lippies I love to give you more options to choose from.
1. Revlon ColorStay Satin Ink Liquid Lipstick in ‘Your Go-To’
This is the newest in my collection and has quickly become a favourite because of the impressive formula. This lipstick isn’t *completely* matte, which makes it a lot more comfortable for all-day wear.
It has a satin finish but zero transfer (yes, really!) making it perfect for wearing under a mask. It is also water-resistant and long-wearing, so you can sip your Brutal Fruit with the girls and stay photo-ready.
2. Scarlet Hill Matte Lip Gloss in ‘Nude’
The scariest thing about trying a new nude is the fear of looking like Snookie from Jersey Shore (concealer lips are a memory we’d all like to forget) This is what drew me to this warm shade from Scarlet Hill.
It isn’t an intimidating nude and this makes it so wearable. It is a full matte which guarantees it will last longer and won’t transfer onto your mask or your cocktail glass.
3. Essence Cosmetics Stay 8hr Matte Liquid Lipstick in ‘Duck Face’
New to nude lips? This shade is a great entry-level shade as it has a beautiful touch of pink if you don’t want to go too nude too soon. As the name suggests, expect *serious* staying power from this very matte formula.
This one wins the mask battle and will stay locked in place even after a long day but can be made more comfortable by adding a slick of gloss.
4. Maybelline SuperStay Matte Ink Liquid Lipstick in ‘Fighter’
When Maybelline launched the SuperStay collection I was very impressed. And now this lippie is one of my faves. The warm shade delivers the perfect nude-brown shade to suit my skin tone. I love it!
The texture is wetter and less drying for smooth application and no cracks. And the colour payoff? Bright and brilliant. I wear this lipstick topped with lip gloss for a comfortable and eye-catching shiny pout.
5. L'Oreal Les Chocolats Ultra Matte Liquid Lipstick in ‘Box Of Chocolates’
This shade is part of a nude collection that was inspired by chocolates. Best worn by the braver nude lover, this shade is much lighter than some of my other favourites. This is why I love it as it pops against my skin.
It has a creamy texture, making it really comfortable to wear. I recommend pairing this sexy shade with a toasty brown lip liner and topping off with some gloss.
