There's no hiding the fact that my home is my happy place. It is where I find joy, gather with family and friends and connect with myself. My home is a place where I can feel inspired while finding a sense of calm.

1. Candles

Scent is the first thing you notice when you enter a home. They add elegance to a room and can also calm your mind. No matter how chaotic your day has been, lighting a candle allows you to slow down and recentre (and looks fabulous while doing so).

2. Glassware

Nothing says “grown-up” like some chic glassware. From textured tumblers to classic champagne flutes, a selection of stylish glassware will instantly level-up your dining room table. Time to raise your glasses and cheers in style!

Shop glassware at Country Road, Yuppiechef and Weylandts

3. Unique Crockery

Think tortoiseshell jugs, wicker placemats and gold cutlery. You want to have interesting pieces that allow your personality to shine through and so that you look like the Hostess with the Most-ess when you have guests over.

4. Decorative Accents

These can be in the form of interesting light fittings, plants, pampas grass in a vase or a fruit bowl stand. Basically, anything that will elevate the space by adding an extra visual element. Remember: There is beauty in simplicity.

Shop decorative accents at The Stone Cold Studio, BOFRED and Moodmakers

5. Textiles

These will breathe life into your space. Start with good quality linen in the bedroom and bathrooms. Add textured scatter cushions to the couch. These will all create a sense of calm and relaxation while being practical, too.

Shop textiles at Summah, Weylandts and H&M.
