Type “recipe” into the TikTok search bar and you’ll be met with *tons* of hits. But some of the easy recipes on your feed might look too good to be true. Well, three of them aren’t! Here are three viral brunch snacks that definitely live up to the hype.

#1: Dalgona French Toast
Ingredients
For the French Toast
- 3 free-range eggs
- ¼ cup milk (or almond milk)
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon vanilla paste
- 4 thick slices of white bread or brioche
- 2 tablespoons butter
For the Dalgona Whip
- 4 tablespoons instant coffee
- 4 tablespoons caster sugar
- 8 tablespoons hot water
To Serve
- Marscapone
- Honey or maple syrup
- Fresh berries
- Icing sugar, for dusting
How to Make It
- To make the french toast, combine the eggs, milk, cinnamon and vanilla paste in a flat dish. Gently dip the bread slices into the egg mixture.
- Melt the butter in a non-stick pan over medium heat. Place the eggy bread in the pan and fry on either side until golden.
- To make the Dalgona coffee, combine all the ingredients in a bowl and using an electric whisk, whisk until light and creamy.
- To serve, dollop some mascarpone onto the toasted french toast, and drizzle with honey or syrup. Top with Dalgona whip, fresh berries and a dusting of icing sugar.

#2: Strawberry Danish
Ingredients
For the Danish
- 1 X 250g frozen puff pastry sheet, cut into squares and lightly thawed
- 75g cream cheese
- 2 tablespoons caster sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla paste
- 150g strawberries, sliced
- 1 egg, for brushing the pastry
For the Lemon Icing Drizzle
- ½ cup icing sugar
- ½ lemon juice and zest
How to Make It
- Preheat oven to 180C. Using an electric whisk, beat the cream cheese, caster sugar and vanilla paste together.
- Roll the pastry onto a floured surface, and cut into 4 equal squares. Using a sharp knife, score a 1cm border around the pastry, or fold it into a triangle and slice through either of the sides (remembering to leave a ½ cm gap intact at the peak of the triangle) and fold the border over to create a diamond shape.
- Spoon 1 tablespoon of the cream cheese mixture onto the base of the pastry and top with sliced strawberries. Brush the edges of the pastry with beaten egg. Bake in a preheated oven for 20 – 25 minutes or until the pastry is golden.
- To make the icing, combine icing sugar, zest and enough lemon juice for a runny consistency. Once the Danish has cooled slightly and drizzle with the icing mix.
#3: Croque Madame Brioche Bites
Ingredients
- 6 or 12 slices ham
- 6 free-range eggs
- ½ cup cream or milk
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 80g Gruyère cheese
- 1 tablespoon Italian parsley, roughly chopped
- ⅓ loaf brioche or a croissant, broken into pieces and toasted
- Salt and pepper, to taste
How to Make Them
- Preheat oven to 180C. Grease a large 6-tray, or small 12-tray muffin pan, generously with butter or oil. Line with a piece of ham.
- In a bowl, combine eggs, cream, mustard, grated cheese, parsley and toasted brioche pieces. Season with salt and pepper.
- Pour the mixture into the ham-lined muffin tray and bake in the preheated oven for 15 – 20 minutes or until golden and cooked through. Sprinkle with fresh parsley or thyme and enjoy!
