Looking for ways to style your braids? Because they are so versatile, there are plenty of different ways you can style them without needing to knot or tie them. And knotless braids are super popular right now not only because they look good but they are a protective style that can help to prevent traction alopecia, too!
Looking for cute ways to style your braids – no knots required? Here are three trends to try.
Style #1 / Half-Up Space Buns
This look gives you medium-sized buns that aren’t too big or heavy and lets the rest of your hair appear fuller.
Step 1 Divide your braids in half and then separate the top sections in half again. Secure in place with a braid.
Step 2 Wrap more of your braids around it, starting from front to back. Leave the ends to hang down and then secure them with another braid.
Style #2 / Top Knot with Tendrils
This look is the perfect one to dress up or down or transition from day to night while looking super chic.
Step 1 Take two braids from the front-middle of your hair to leave them as tendrils. Then divide the rest of your hair in half. Section the top half into three, bring them together and tie them into a top knot.
Step 2 Conceal your hair tie by taking a braid from the back-middle section of your hair and wrapping it around your bun.
Step 3 Get more volume by fanning your braids out at the front and sides, leaving the two loose ones hanging to frame your face.

Style #3 / Fishtail Braided Plaits
Obviously, this look requires that you master the art of the fishtail braid. But once you’ve got the hang of it, you’re on your way to a hot new ‘do.
Step 1 Divide your hair in half. Take a braid (or a few braids) from the outside of one section across the other. Then do the same on the other side. Repeat this, starting from the top and working downward.
Step 2 You can do one fishtail braid or multiples – one on each side looks great, too! Fan the braids out to give more volume.
Step 3 To secure the fishtail braid, use a braid and loop it around twice to keep it in place.
