1. The Greenhouse, Sandton

I love the greenhouse aesthetic as it gives modern amazon with a touch of luxury. It quite literally doesn’t feel like you’re in a buzzy city! I like to describe this establishment as a high-end bar with great food. I always recommend that people try my fave dish – the chicken pasta. I also enjoy how flexible the space is for dressing up or dressing down. Girls' night out, date night, after-work drinks, sundowners – this spot has got you covered.

2. The Shortmarket Club, Rosebank

This is an incredible space and very upmarket. It is the perfect spot for any time of the day and is located right in the centre of Rosebank. Personally, I like to dress up when coming to this classy establishment. The staff is incredibly helpful when it comes to their wine list and menu pairing. My go-to dish is their mouth-watering pork belly (and you mustn’t forget their fresh oysters to start!).

3. Modena Italian Eatery

Who doesn’t love spending time in vibey Parkhurst? This area is always super laid back and being there feels like an escape from our busy urban lives. And when I’m there, I have to visit Modena! My favourite dish in the *entire city* is their barramundi fish which you can pair with a cocktail or their selection of wines. This is also a dress-up or dress-down establishment, making it perfect for a girlie date!

4. Ethos, Rosebank

Ethos has always captured me with its modern interior design – this restaurant is absolutely stunning! Their tapas are tasteful and tasty and their mixologist is a force to be reckoned with. Hours can go by and you won’t even notice. Here, I would whip out a beautiful dress and a pair of heels – you’ve got to match the establishment right? I highly recommend their chicken liver starters.
