The weather is still hot which means you probably need some serious refreshment! Here’s how to make spritzer sorbets that will keep you cool all season long.

 

Summer is a season enjoyed by many in SA, thanks to our *gorgeous* climate. This doesn’t, however, mean that the weather doesn’t sometimes feel too hot to bear, especially if you don’t have a pool or live close to the beach. Fortunately, ice-cold refreshments can also keep you cool when the temperatures are hot. This is why you need these spritzer sorbets in your life (and in your freezer)!

 

Not unlike the Italian staple, granita, making spritzer sorbets are a great way to serve drinks in warm weather. The ice content ensures that they stay cool and deliver more and more flavour as they melt for next-level summertime sipping.

Spritzer sorbets are a fabulous way to serve your drinks this season. They are also really easy to make. Here’s how to make them using a blend of fresh fruit and your favourite flavour of Brutal Fruit.

Ruby Apple Sorbet

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of frozen watermelon
  • 1 apple sliced
  • 1 cup of sugar syrup
  • Squeeze of honey
  • Splash of lemon juice
  • 1 Ruby Apple Brutal Fruit

Strawberry Rouge Sorbet

Ingredients

  • 1 cup frozen strawberries
  • 1 cup frozen blueberries
  • 1 cup sugar syrup
  • Squeeze of honey
  • Splash of lemon juice
  • 1 Strawberry Rouge Brutal Fruit

How to Make Them

  1. Dissolve the sugar in water on medium heat and then allow it to cool.
  2. Add the frozen fruit to a blender, followed by the cooled syrup, a squeeze of honey and a splash of lemon juice. Next, add the Brutal Fruit flavour of your choice.
  3. Pour the mixture into a container and freeze for 4 to 6 hours or overnight.
  4. To serve, scoop into glasses and pour over your delicious flavour of Brutal Fruit. Enjoy!
