Here’s a Behind-The-Scenes Look at Kay's Soft Girl Cover Shoot

It was an unseasonably warm day in August when we met with Kay Yarms to shoot her soft girl cover. The whole team was up bright and early, filled with excitement for the day ahead. And what a day it would be!

It wasn’t hard to find the *perfect* place to shoot Kay’s soft girl cover shoot. Boa Beauty Bar in Sea Point in Cape Town has pink walls, velvet furnishings and gold accents, making it the obvious choice. Everyone was in awe when the gorgeous flowers arrived, signalling the start of a fun day on set.

Not wanting to get in the way of customers getting their nails done, we moved quickly from this stunning venue and onto the next: the iconic Winchester Hotel. We were welcomed and escorted to the most luxurious suite with sea views, warm sun and an ocean breeze. We shot in the courtyard restaurant, which was bursting with fresh green foliage.

Have you ever seen a bath you just wanted to sit in for a photo op? That was THE SUITE team when they laid their eyes on this dreamy bathroom. This shot – with Kay in a pink puffy dress chatting away on the phone – is one of our faves from the day!

Then it was time for some refreshments. Of course, Kay looked like the icon that she is, sipping on her Brutal Fruit in the courtyard. We drew some attention getting this shot with passers-by taking their own pics. It’s hard when the wardrobe is this glam.

The highlight of everyone's day was when the two poodles, Louis and Angel, arrived on set. They were showered with hugs and kisses and everything was done to get them to look at the camera. They came *very close* to stealing Kay's spotlight, but her perfect poses didn't give them a chance.
