Scrolling through social media for makeup inspo can be equal parts inspiring and intimidating. But you don’t need next-level skills to create a bomb beauty look.
Want to draw attention to your eyes? For this ombré eyeshadow look, I’ve used warm colours – a dreamy blend of pink and orange – inspired by sunset, making it perfect for sundowners. It’s a modern take on the iconic ‘80s two-toned aesthetic and is guaranteed to make your peepers pop!
Here’s how to recreate this eye-catching look in five easy steps.
Before You Start
Apply primer to clean, moisturised skin to even out your skin’s texture for easy application. Then use concealer to colour correct where necessary before applying your foundation. To complement the mismatched eyeliner look, opt for light to medium coverage for a more natural, youthful finish.
A well-groomed set of brows is also important, but you don’t want them to take centre stage. Instead, fill in any blank or uneven spots and brush a clear gel through them to keep them in place.
Step #1
Apply white cream eyeshadow or eye paint as an eyeshadow primer to make your colours seriously pop.
Step #2
Wet a flat eyeshadow brush with setting spray and use this to apply pink eyeshadow over your lids.
Pro Tip Make sure to dab or press the colour onto your lids instead of blending for a brighter, more saturated finish.
Step #3
Use a fluffy blending brush to apply yellow eyeshadow along your crease. This will lightly diffuse the pink and create a stylish pink-to-orange ombré effect.
Step #4
Extend the colour by adding more yellow towards the arch and tip of your brows. The end result is a sultry sunset eyeshadow look — perfect for sundowners with the girls.
Step #5
Finish off this dreamy look with ample coats of mascara and a slick of 90s-inspired nude gloss. Looking good, ladies!
