At the beginning of the year, the global standardised colour authority, Pantone, named their Colour of the Year. This annual tradition has many waiting in bated breath to see which shade (or shades) will be setting the colour palette for the upcoming twelve months.

For 2022, the Pantone Colour of the Year is 17-3938 Veri Peri – a dynamic yet chill periwinkle blue. The company said that they chose this shade as it represents "taking on modern life and its endless possibilities with an inquisitive mind and carefree confidence."
