It might have been a crisp autumn day, but Thabsie brought all the sunshine to set for her cover shoot. It was shot at the iconic Belmond Mount Nelson Hotel, a Cape Town institution dating back to 1899. The pretty pastel-pink exterior and the luxe five-star interior were the perfect backdrops for the musical legend-in-the-making to strut her stuff for THE SUITE.

LOOK #1: Stepping Out in Style
The day started with two hours of hair and makeup with the iconic artist, Michelle-Lee Collins, the former global senior artist for M.A.C.
We began the shoot outside of a beautiful spiral staircase. Right from the start, Thabsie proved herself to be a natural model – yet another talent to her extensive repertoire!
LOOK #2: Courtyard Chic
When we set up next to a bubbling fountain in one of the courtyards it caught the attention of many of the hotel guests. They even started to excitedly take some BTS pics of their own.
LOOK #3: A Dress to Turn Heads
When Thabsie stepped onto set in this gorgeous beige gown, everyone was *literally* blown away. What may have been even more impressive is her ability to run in heels!

LOOK #4: Terrific in Tulle
Another tulle number that brings volume and romance, this dress was shot in a part of the Mount Nelson known as Helmsley Hotel, one of the historic buildings found on the premises.
LOOK #5: Puff-Sleeved Picnic
A high tea was set up for Thabsie at the outdoor harvest table. But don’t think she got all the cakes and sandwiches to herself – they were enjoyed by the team as soon as they got the shot!
LOOK #6: Bold + Bow-tiful
An entertainer through and through, the guests weren’t able to keep their eyes off Thabsie in her pink dress (complete with an oversized bow) while enjoying their tea on the terrace.
LOOK #7: Fit for a Queen
What better way to end the shoot than by getting a snap of Thabsie wearing a beautiful, fresh flower crown. And totally fitting for the queen that she is! That’s a wrap!
